RSAT allows IT administrators to remotely manage roles and functions on Windows Server from a computer running Windows 10 and Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

Introduction
You cannot install RSAT on computers running Windows Home or Standard editions. You can install RSAT only on the Professional or Enterprise editions of the Windows client operating system. Unless the download page specifically states that RSAT applies to a beta, preview, or other preview version of Windows, you must be running a full version (RTM) of the Windows operating system to install and use RSAT. Some users have found ways to manually crack or hack the RSAT MSU to install RSAT on unsupported versions or editions of Windows. This behavior is a violation of the Windows End User License Agreement.
RSAT installation is similar to Adminpak.msi installation on Windows 2000 or Windows XP-based client computers. However, there is one big difference: in Windows 7, the tools are not automatically available after you download and install RSAT. Enable the tools you want to use through Control Panel. To activate the tools, clickTo start, cliqueControl Panel, cliquePrograms and characteristicsand then clickTurn window features on or off.
In Windows 10 versions of RSAT, the tools are re-enabled by default. you can openTurn window features on or offto disable tools you don't want to use in Windows 7.
For RSAT on Windows 7, you must enable the tools for the features and features you want to manage after running the downloaded setup package.
Observation
You cannot make the following changes to RSAT in Windows 8 or later.
If you need to install management tools on Windows Server 2012 R2 for specific roles or features running on remote servers, you don't need to install additional software. Start the Add Roles and Features Wizard in Windows Server 2012 R2 and later. So, inselect featurespage, enlargeRemote Server Administration Toolsand then select the tools you want to install. Complete the wizard to install your management tools.

RSAT for Windows 10, version 1809 or later
Observation
You can't use the Turn Windows features on and off dialog box in Control Panel
RSAT Tools installation for Windows 10 version 1809 and later is slightly different than previous versions. RSAT is now part of the operating system and can be installed viaoptional resources.
To activate the tools, clickTo start, cliquesettings, cliqueApplicationsand then clickoptional features, after that, click on the paneladd a resourceand type Remote in the search bar.
