The Delhi High Court has upheld an ordinance by the city government requiring a person to be a resident of Delhi to volunteer for civil defence. The jury, led by Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, rejected a lawyer's petition challenging the injunction issued by the Delhi government secretary, tax commissioner and department, therefore such an eligibility clause is not unreasonable.
